NPC - Rigmar the Wolf-Queen
Among the hunters of the Schnai and Fruzti runs a cult dedicated to the Wolf-God. Those who follow this deity bear the taint of the wolf in their blood and as an outward sign in their human form bear upon them the wolf medalion. Rigmar wears her openly as she is the Queen of Wolves among the Schnai and dwells in the wilderness beyond the furthest outpost or settlement.
Rigmar is the daughter of the former Wolf-Queen (the Wolf-King is always chosen from the Fruzti and though he also dwells in the wilderness he dwells apart from the queen except during certain times of Luna's fullness). When either the king or queen is slain or dies their mate chooses to die as well and a new pair of leaders is selected.
Rigmar is young as is the new king. She has possessed the wolf-taint in her blood since birth and is a powerful creature when she summons her wolf aspect. In her human form she is a hunter and a northern ranger as are all members of the cult.
NPC - Einar and Vit
Einar is a Schnai warrior whose family was killed when an invasion of Gnolls swept down from the mountain upon his village. He had been away at the time serving the interests of the King by eliminating several problems in Ratik. Upon his return he was informed of the loss of his village and kin.
After immediately leaving the King's service he traveled north, then further north, then beyond the last outposts of the Schnai among the Corrusk Mountains.
Einar is an immensely powerful warrior but neither a skilled mountaineer nor a tracker. Lost among the mountains trying to track down the Gnoll chieftain behind the raid on his village, he went a little mad in the wilderness. He had become a terror among the creatures of the mountains.
One day he came upon a party of Ogres who had wounded a giant white wolf with a thrown stone. The wolf had bloodied one ogre but the group was preparing to bring it down with nets and stones. That is when Einar attacked them. His great sword cut through their flesh like it was made of snow and he steaming bloody sections.
The wolf was down and unconscious so Einar brought it back to his camp and cared for it. In it he saw the spirit of his lost kin and named the wolf Vit.
Vit is of unusual size and intelligence. He is absolutely loyal to Einar and understands the basics of what Einar's words. The pair hunt the Corrusk Mountains but descend to the Schnai lands while Einar still searches for the Gnoll tribe and vengeance.
Item - Wolf Amulets
Among the hunters the Fruztii and Schnai there is a small secret society of lycanthropes who have broken from Votan and Ve as well as the rest of the northern pantheon. Instead they follow the Wolf-God whose home is the wilderness beyond the Corusk Mountains. To control their lycanthropy the followers wear amulets shaped in the form of a ceremonial wolf mask.
The copper amulet is the most common and those wearing it can resist the compulsion to change to their werewolf form during the time of the full moon.
The gold amulet denotes members of the Wolf-God's clergy. It grants certain powers and protections making it harder for even enchanted weapons to damage and the ability to charm and command wolves.
The silver amulet is worn by the leaders of the cult granting immunity to the power of silver to damage the wearer, the ability to command lesser werewolves and wolves and allows the wearer to transform into a monstrous werewolf of great size and strength.
NPC - Linnea Schnai Witch
Linnea is from a wealthy and powerful Schnai clan, her Mother, Lea, the leader of the Clan's council of Elders. Linnea is the youngest of seven daughters (a birth of very good fortune and destiny among the Schnai). She is currently in a battle of wills with her mother concerning her destiny.
Linnea has a desire to see the Southern world below the frozen land of her home. She has sworn herself to Tor and plans to take ship during the next raiding/trading season and even as a young witch her abilities would find her a seat at any bench. Lea has forced all the Schnai shipmasters to deny her a place among their crew but Linnea has a stronger will than that.
Risking outlawry Linnea has fled the lands of Schnai and joined a Fruzti crew. Now she finds herself aboard the Fruzti raider the Styrkarsarjar joing an expedition on a strange smoking island and loving every moment.
NPC - Ragnar Wolfsbane - Mercenary Captain
Ragnar Wolfsbane is an exiled Schnai warrior but so ferocious and esteemed a leader he atracts followers like crows to a battlefield. Many Schnai warriors seek him out to join his band. He can be found from the Solnor Ocean to Densac Gulf with a small fleet of Longships, but he is no raider. Ragnar instead sells his sword and those of his followers to any who will pay.
He is reknowned for his Silver-Sword and silvered armor, powerfully enchanted. Ragnar's family were killed by werewolves and he cannot abide lycanthropes of any sort. His sword, Moonkissed can detect werewolves and is a powerful weapon against them. His armor grants him immunity from their curse and weakens any werewolf that he comabts with. He wears the flayed hide of a great greywolf as his cloak.
Currently it is said he commands seven longship and a varied band of three hundred warriors.
NPC - Eydis Paladin of Ve
Ve is the patron god of the Schnai. His brothers Veli and Votan are respected as are the other gods and godesses in the pantheon of the Manskr (those people called Suel Babarians by outsiders).
It is Ve who dispells the darkness and ends the long night. He who kindles the fire. His home is the sun and his armor is golden. Those who serve him, his priests and paladins wear enchanted discs of gold upon their armor granting the various protections.
Eydis is one of Ve's favored champions. She bears several disks of power and an enchantedswortd that burns with the fury of Ve. When she was a child she was given to the order of Ve and raised to be a wartrior-priest but so great was here strength and piety that she became one of Ve's holy champions.
